Welcome to Passeig de Gràcia, one of the most elegant and famous avenues in Barcelona.

This beautiful avenue begins at Plaça de Catalunya and continues uphill until it reaches the Gràcia neighbourhood.
That is exactly where its name comes from, because in the past it was the road connecting the old city of Barcelona with the former village of Gràcia.

As you walk along Passeig de Gràcia, you will discover some of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Here you can admire world-famous modernist architecture, including Casa Batlló, Casa Amatller, and Casa Milà, also known as La Pedrera.

But Passeig de Gràcia is not only about architecture. It is also one of Barcelona’s most stylish shopping streets, where you will find elegant hotels, cafés, restaurants, and luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton.

My personal advice is simple: walk slowly and look carefully around you.
Do not admire only the façades. Look at the pavement, the streetlights, the balconies, and all the little architectural details that make this avenue so special.

And here is my personal tip: as you walk uphill from Plaça de Catalunya, on the second corner on your right, you will find Tapa Tapa.
Go in for lunch or dinner and enjoy some delicious traditional tapas.

Take your time and enjoy the walk, because Passeig de Gràcia is much more than a street,  it is one of the best open-air showcases of Barcelona’s history, architecture, and style.
