Barcelona Cathedral is one of the great landmarks of the Gothic Quarter.
Its full name is the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, and it stands at the center of the old city, surrounded by narrow streets, squares and historic buildings.
The façade is impressive, but the cathedral is more than its exterior. It represents centuries of religious, artistic and urban history.
This is one of the places where Barcelona feels older, quieter and more solemn.
What to look at
Start with the main façade. Look at the vertical lines, the pointed arches and the rich Gothic decoration.
Then pay attention to the square in front of the cathedral. It is one of the most active meeting points in the old city.
If you enter, look at the height of the nave, the chapels and the atmosphere created by the stone and filtered light.
The cloister is also very special. It is a peaceful space that contrasts with the busy streets outside.

Do not just take one photo from the front and leave. Walk around the nearby streets, because the area around the Cathedral is part of the experience.
Early morning is often better if you want a quieter visit and cleaner photos.
